Motor Control Box Inspetion - 25-01-07
After a lot of mechanics let's get back in the field: inspecting the motor control Box. The C5 got a really simple way of piloting the motor: full on and full off by switching a standard relay. No PWM, no other fancy (and somewhere fragile) electronics... all the electronics if only for controlling motor current load essentally, apart for some interfacing between your little push button and high current flow, plus some trustworty fuses...

At first looks it's very clean and immacolate...
Uh oh ! what's happened to my lovely opamp ??
Ooopsss ! i've never seen such kind of failure: it's splitted in half !! not burned or exploded...Every component has a sort of "black/gray powder" inside that makes it work, it's like a soul. When you torture too much the component, it opens up, the soul came out and... the component stop working.
Yes, its true ! sometime they dead in a pacefully way, some other time they "pop!", others they grow some bubble on the surface... and the soul get out, you can't miss it, it's black/gray, has a really weird smell... don't beleive me? just try ! take whatever component, 2-3 9V battery, link in series and start torturing the component and you will say "oohhhh, that guy was right !"
Here i see a small brown hollow on the left side... may it rest in peace ! (opening the drawer) Ah-ha, here is the replacement ! :D
