Seeing witout being saw

Ever wondered how to see in the dark without using visible light ?

Geeee !!! that's the actual view !! (left) close up of a picmicro board, (right) the oven 3mt away. Lights pattern is poor due to the few LEDs used (4) and approximate positioning, but it can be fixed !

Most important, above you can see the difference: (right) the room was very poorly illuminated, some light was coming from outside the window and the camera correctly picked up. But, when you push the button IR come in place (left) ! the only difference is that human eyes won't pickup all that light, so you can stay safe that noone would "see" you hanging aroung with your torch...

What i did: took an old 3.4V CVS one time use camera, added LCD brightness trimmer, removed IR filter, added a smart constant current generator, added a ring with 4 IR LED, fitted everything inside.

What you get is a "kind" of night vision scope. Beware ! it's not a real night scope ! but it's nice for what you get ;) and PLUS you can easily instant record !

The camera

After some work my camera now looks like this:

I've managed to get everything fitted inside using also the 2AA for powering the 4 high power IR leds (40ma each, not low, not much = longer life). The upper connector is the USB mod to download movies...

IR circle array, some screws and the LCD brightness trimmer

Squeeze the leaver and you power up the LEDs.
